Welcome to the Madera Tech Team's homepage!

As the end of 2001 was nearing, the Madera Chamber of Commerce formed a technology committee, the Madera Tech Team. The Madera Tech Team is a resource to all Madera businesses and residents in our community. One of the goals of the committee is to increase computer related knowledge for all Maderans. The 21st Century is already over two years old and it's time Madera businesses came up to speed (or even leap frogged other comparable business communities) by leveraging the awesome power of the Internet to increase its market reach, its productivity, and to retool its marketing to standards that will appeal to customers and visitors worldwide.

The team also aims to increase the awareness of the availability of local technical resources, and to increase the visibility of Madera-based technology related businesses. Local businesses and individuals no longer have to go to Fresno to get trained or get their computer systems serviced or repaired. The Madera Tech Team is here for you!

The committee’s charter is to foster the use of computer technology by local companies and individuals. We will accomplish this via teaching basic and advanced computer and Internet related skills for Maderans.

As a service to the community the Madera Tech Team is currently developing the following curriculum:

  • Basic Computer Skills (Windows, Macintosh)
    • how to set up a computer, how to load software, learn tricks, tips, and more
  • Internet Basics
    • what the Internet is, how one connects to the Internet, how to use email (outlook, netscape, etc.), and more
  • More Advanced Internet Training
    • search engines, e-commerce fundamentals, web hosting, etc.
  • Basic Microsoft Office Software Suite Training
    • MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint
  • Computer Security
    • Top ten things you can do right away to secure your computer, internet security basics, and more
  • Additional Topics are being discussed as well, please fell free to send us suggestions
