September 2002 — The Madera Tech Team received a $1,000 grant from SBC Pacific Bell to further computer education to Maderans. The Madera Chamber of Commerce created the Madera Tech Team almost a year ago because it badly needed a Technology Committee. The Madera Tech Team was created as a resource for all Madera businesses and residents. One of the goals of the committee is to increase computer related knowledge for all Maderans. The team aims to increase the awareness of the availability of local technical resources and to increase the visibility of Madera-based technology related businesses. Local businesses and individuals no longer have to go to Fresno to get trained or get their computer systems serviced or repaired. The Madera Tech Team is here for you!

Since February 5, 2002, AT&T Broadband has started to offer broadband internet access via cable modems to the City of Madera. Maderans can now race around the internet at reasonable speed.
